Shop Roaster: Daily Maintenance

Conduct these tasks when prompted during roasting every day.

Every 3 roasts (Countertop) or 13 roasts (Continuous) we must empty the Chaff, Water, and vacuum the Prefilters.

  • For Countertop: 
    • Remove the Chaff/Water Collector by twisting it to the left.  The container will drop down and can be removed.  Empty the water into a drain by tilting slightly over a drain.  Then, fully invert the container over a trash bin to dispose of the chaff.  Lock the container back into the roaster by raising it into the machine with the handle slightly to the left and then rotating to the right to lock into place.  You should see a gap beneath the Chaff/Water Collector when it's correctly in place.

  • For Continuous Roasting:
    • Pull the lockbar outward to release the Chaff/Water Collector.  The entire handled tray will pull out.  The chaff and water collect in separate containers that each pull out from the larger tray.  Empty both compartments and then reinsert the bins into the handled tray and then push the tray back into machine and push lockbar back in to secure.  If the seal does not feel secure, add a spacer beneath the chaff container inside of the handle tray.

  • Remove the two Prefilters from the machine (located beneath the roasting drum).  Thoroughly vacuum off both sides of the prefilters and reinsert into machine.
