Shop Roaster : Replacing The Main Blower

Main Blower Assembly Change

Tools Required : 

  • 4mm Allen Wrench
  • 3mm Allen Wrench
  • Wire Cutters/Strippers
  • Phillips Screwdriver
  1. Remove the right side panel from the main body of the Roaster.
  2. Remove the passive cooling fan if it's blocking your access.
  3. Locate the Main Blower.  Disconnect the 3 connectors: main power, control, and ground wires. 
    1. Please cut the ground wire at least 6" (15cm) from the blower
    2. using the 12 gauge hole strip 1/4" (6mm) to expose the wire
    3. Use the included Wago connector to reconnect the new blower assembly to the grounding wire in the machine (like the image below)

  4. To remove the Main Blower from the duct,  loosen the slotted allen screws circled in red in the image below (this is a view up from the bottom of the motor).  Once loose twist the Main Blower to the right to drop it down.

  5. We will now reverse the steps to reinstall the blower assembly.
  6. Due to different vintages of manufacturing the new plate may not align correctly with the six screws in the blower housing. If that is the case for your machine remove the 3 screws that are closer to you. They are circled in red on this image.
  7. Install the assembly, rotate the assembly to lock in the keyed slots, re-install the 3 screws that may have been removed in the previous step.
  8. Reconnect the three sets of wire connectors for the blower
